It's a revolutionary no-scar surgery technique!

You know how I often post about the cute things that the girls say? Well, Phillip's getting in on the action now too.

Since he's at the doctor right now getting his cast off from his surgery, I thought I'd share this little conversation that took place in the van a few days ago....

Phillip: (yelling over the singing coming from the back seat and holding up his cast) I can't wait to get this thing off in a couple of days.

Me: You're telling me. I'm interested to see what the scar will look like too.

Phillip: Oh, you think it'll leave a scar?

Me: Ummmm......yes, you'll have a scar.

Phillip: (
a few minutes later) So you really think I'll have a scar?

Me: Yes Honey, I'm pretty sure.

I love that guy. I'm sure he was just trying to make me laugh and didn't really think he wouldn't have a scar (Right, Honey?!?).

Kissed and Made Up

So remember last week when I threw the dvr out the window? Well, we have kissed and made up....I'm back in love.

When you have to be awake to catch puke every ten minutes for four hours in the wee hours of the morning (times two out of three girls = two nights in a row!), the dvr is my best friend.

No infomercial watching here.

I caught up on Dancing with the Stars. I'm so sad that Jenny didn't make it to the finals, but LOVE that Helio won. How cute is he?!?

Then I caught up on ER, Survivor, and Friday Night Lights too.

Mara and I were watching Kid Nation last night in between the puke catching, and I think I have a future reality tv addict on my hands...guess she gets that honestly though.

Ok, I'd better get back to the fourteen loads of puke infested laundry waiting on me!

Photo meme

This was a very fun meme. Just go to google and search for images of the answers to the questions.

Age at next birthday...
Place I'd like to travel...
My favorite place...
My favorite objects...
My favorite food...
My favorite color... hmmmm, wonder if the iphone will ever come in pink!
My nickname... I didn't think I had a nickname, but Phillip just reminded me of this one (I don't want to talk about it!)...

Place I was born...Carrie

Must Enunciate

We had spaghetti last night for supper. The girls like to have garlic toast with it (toast with butter and garlic salt), so the container of garlic salt was on the table. The following disturbing conversation took place...

Emily: What's that?
Me: What's what?
Emily: What's that? (
pointing at the garlic salt)
Me: That's garlic salt.
Emily: (
with a very confused look on her face) Girlie parts?
Me: Ummm, no...GARLIC. SALT.

I will be working on my e. nun. ci. ation. from now on!

That's my girl!

Between Thanksgiving dinner and dessert, we passed around a little pumpkin. Whoever was holding the pumpkin told everyone what they were thankful for.

The girls loved passing around the pumpkin and they were so cute telling everyone what they were thankful for....

Mara: I'm thankful for my family.
Emily: Mommy and Daddy.
Becca: Da, da, ,da, da, da.

When we were done, we were all smiling at the sweet family time. Mara blurted out....

Mara: I'm thankful for DESSERT!!!

That's my girl!

Oprah's favs

I didn't get to watch the show the other day but checked them out on her website. These boots are the only thing that I really LOVE. (Dear Santa....Oh come on Santa, they're only $120!)This DVD set of Planet Earth would be fun though too. This Italian gelato looks good, but I think it's just cause I'm hungry. And the worst by far is this outfit. I would not only look like a cow, but I'd also be a broke cow cause it's only $350! Carrie

Mara's cooking the turkey!

First you take a "little" turkey, about "three" pounds. You sprinkle it with "sprinkles" and rub it with "chocolate" (that's my girl!). Then put it in the oven on "75" degrees, and cook it for "five minutes." Then you serve it with "chocolate" and "ice cream."

Mmmm, chocolate and ice cream turkey....she might have just started a new family tradition!

Happy Turkey Day!

It's a bird...It's a plane...no, it's just my dvr flying out the window!

Dear Mr. Local ABC Executive,
When you decide to air a football game instead of regularly scheduled programs, and then air those programs in the wee hours of the mornings, please update your programming if said regularly scheduled programs will be starting 15 minutes late. The dvrs of the world would appreciate not getting cussed at, and this housewife shamefully addicted to The Bachelor would appreciate not having to cuss at said dvr.

Sincerely,
The housewife shamefully addicted to The Bachelor who missed the last 15 minutes of the final rose ceremony

Alright ducks, get in a row!

It's not even Thanksgiving yet and I just ordered our Christmas cards. Now, if I can just get them in the mail in the next five weeks!

This is one of the very cute rejected pictures for the card. Look, Becca's even sticking her tongue out!Oh, almost done with the shopping too!

The Price is STILL Right

Phillip had a little surgery on his wrist yesterday (I guess it was only 'little' because it wasn't my wrist!) so I had several hours to sit in a waiting room knitting and watching something on tv besides Dora or Backyardigans.

So while knitting and waiting, The Price Is Right came on the six tvs in the waiting room. I'm not a huge fan of the show, but used to watch it every now and then when we had the cheap cable.

I've not watched it since Bob Barker retired. I was really skeptical thinking they probably should have just ended the show when he left instead of trying to replace him.

Well I must say, I was wrong. And if you know me...you know how hard it is for me to say that!

Drew Carey was fabulous! He was just so real...jumping up and down with the contestants that won and chuckling at the ones who bid $1199 right after the person before them bid $1200. I also love that he calls the models by name.

Hmmm, another show to add to the dvr....just what I need!

Ow, my nose hurts now!

Check out this poor little guy. Man, that must have hurt. I do think his momma is looking very calm in this picture though...I think I'd be flipping out. No, I know I'd be flipping out!And this picture is just a couple days later. Wow, that's amazing.I checked snopes.com to make sure these pictures were real, and sure enough...you can read about it here.

A Princess Necessity

I don't know why she likes this swim mask so much (I've posted this similar picture before.), but she wears it for hours everyday. If you ask her about it, she just says "I'm a princess!" in her best 'Duh!' tone. Hmmm, guess it's a three year old thing. Carrie

"Look Mom..."

Emily: Look Mom, booger!
Me: Ewww, did you get that out of your nose?

(I know, that was a stupid question!)
Emily: No
Me: Where did you get it?

Emily: (sticking her finger up her nose) Right here.

Like I said, I know....stupid question.

Only genius' allowed!

cash advance

This cracks me up. I think if your blog doesn't quite make it to the third grade reading level, then they just say it's genius level to make you feel better. My husband's blog is College Ed/Grad level, but he'll never know it because he doesn't read my blog....but I'm not bitter about it at all!

Acrylic photo frames work for me.

Why do babies and toddlers love to push buttons on the television? I guess the same reason they like the remote.

It never fails... I get all of the girls settled watching a video that they've all agreed on (which is a miracle). I walk out of the room, and 30 seconds later the big girls are screaming because Becca has pushed a button and messed everything up.

While at Wal-Mart several weeks ago, I was looking for a frame when the little cheap acrylic frames caught my eye. I thought, "That would be perfect to keep Becca's little fingers off of the tv buttons."

Well, I'm happy to report that they are working fabulously. See all of the fingerprints on the frame below....
Each fingerprint is one less scream from the big girls. Oh, and it also keeps random toys out of the VCR slot (not that that has ever happens at the circus house)!

I just had to show the next picture too. It took about ten takes to get the above picture. The other nine are some variation of the picture below. Good thing she's cute...the little rascal!
Go to Rocks in my Dryer for more Words for me Wednesday tips.

'Right Time' Photos

You've got to see these photos. Here's my favorite one....I think this photographer might need to go check his britches!

I've got some 'right time' photos from the Three-Girl Circus too....

Peekaboo at just the right time...
Nose picking at just the right time.... This one is now my favicon. This is SO Emily! A major fit at just the right time (if there is a right time for a fit!)...be glad there's no audio! And here's my favorite 'right time' photo... Run Emily, Run!

I just realized that most of the photos are of Emily...guess she just has great timing!
