Becca's 4th Birthday

I love, love, love birthdays! Love birthdays of the people I love and even love my own birthday. Becca Sue's birthday was on a Saturday this year, and it was so much fun to celebrate it ALL day.

We had a party at the local donut shop that morning. Here's Becca with her BFF...I love the relationship these two have that she doesn't mind that he helps her blow her candles out. Dawson can help but her sisters better not even breathe anywhere near her candles!
Sam found friends with the Warta boys and was entertained all morning. They're teaching him how cool it is to be a boy!
This is her blowing another candle out after our lunch that day...or rather with her eyes closed wishing before blowing it out.
Ok, who gave the boy a cupcake? He's such a mess and so proud of it!
And the birthday girl lounging while we sing to her yet again at supper!
Becca Sue, You are such a big girl. We have had so many changes in your little world over the last six months and you have just gone with the flow...evidence that you are still the easy going little girl I first met four years ago...underneath the stubborn exterior of course! You're still the best surprise God has ever given me. Love you so much...Happy #4 Becca Boo!

Christmas Spirit

Since Christmas is 'only' 74 days away, I thought I'd get you into the Christmas spirit by sharing pictures from last year's preschool Christmas program (and desperately try to catch up on blogging!).

Emily got to carry baby Jesus.
And Becca was an angel....oh she looks so sweet and innocent here...the little booger!
Here's Em putting baby Jesus in the manger.
Emily singing....
And Becca singing...
After the program, they both got to tell Santa about the boots they wanted.
And this last picture was taken just moments before Sam realized some big scary guy in red was holding him.
Can't believe that I'll only have one doing a preschool Christmas program this year!

My baby girl turns three.

Catch up post #3.

Becca Sue is now three. We had a great birthday party at Build-A-Bear. Look at all of these great looking kids...
I think this is my all time favorite picture of my baby girl. She was holding her bear's heart in her hands and making a wish. This girl is serious about her wish making...she stayed just like this for a full five minutes!
Heidi, this picture is for the rehearsal dinner slide show in about twenty years!
Look at this sweet face. Is this really the same face that screams "NO" 24/7 and spends half of her days in time-out?
All of the kids had a great time and my three girls still sleep with their bear/bunny/puppy every night.

Happy Birthday my sweet baby girl. You still are my sweet Becca even though everything goes through your stubborn filter. I love you and your little strong will. I pray that God uses that strong will in mighty ways.

"I do it"

Yes, you know you have an independant two-year-old on your hands when she cries every time she needs a diaper change. Not because she doesn't want her diaper changed, but because she wants to do it herself.

I think God made two-year-olds cute for their own protection!

So I'm finally admiting it.

My Wordless Wednesday posts are never wordless. Instead of pretending that they're wordless, I'm just going to start doing 'Wordful Wednesday' hosted by Seven Clown Circus (love the name of her blog!)

Since Becca's birthday party was two and a half weeks ago, I'd better blog about it before I forget what happened.

We had a Pancake Pajama Party on the Porch, and had a lot of fun.....I ate too much, but it was still fun!

Looking at the pictures though, it looks like it was an experiment in how many kids is too many...

How many kids is too many kids to open presents?

How many kids is too many kids on a trampoline?

How many kids is too many kids in a sandbox?

Oh yeah, and one totally random thing....whoever gave Becca these little recorder things...ummm yeah, thanks!

Soakin' It Up

I haven't posted any pictures from Becca's birthday party because...well, I need to get to that. But if there were a dictionary entry for "Soaking up attention", it would look like this! I love that face!

Oh, and that's Heidi's little guy in the picture with Becca. They're just a few weeks apart and best buddies.

Two-year-old of mine,

The next time you decide to take your diaper off all by yourself and then potty all over the place. Ummm yeah, don't!

Happy Birthday, Little Stinker!

Can. not. believe. that my baby is two years old!

For the sappy birthday wish, go here and read last year's.

No sap today cause I've got a 'terrible two' on my hands. How could one little girl go from being SO easy going to SO stubborn in just one year?!? Guess she's getting more and more like me!

Becca's always the last to wake up in the morning, so this morning we heard her talking. Mara, Emily and I all went up stairs...opened her door...and started singing, "Happy Birthday to...."

That's about as far as we got when we were met with, "STOOOOOOP."

Ok, so maybe it was just too loud for 8am. So I said (very quietly and sweetly) "Happy Birthday baby girl. How old are you today?"

This time I got a "NOOOOO".

I've not been able to get through the entire birthday song yet today with out a "STOP." Hmmm, maybe I just sing that terribly!

I think the real reason is that I have a terrible two on my hands with opinions and ideas of her own. Not at all like her mommy, huh?

She did cheer up some when we went to get donuts this morning...just the two of us!

I love you so much Becca Boo! You still make me a better Mommy everyday, and I can't wait to see what God has planned for you
. Happy Birthday, Little Stinker!
Love, Mommy
