I'm Still Kicking

...from the inside and outside.

Well, I'm kicking on the outside while a little peanut whose making me puke is kicking from the inside.

I've don't have a clue why I can't seem to get back into blogging so I'll just blame it on baby #4.

No Way!

It has not been an entire week since I posted!

Man, I didn't intend to take a blogging break, but I guess I needed one.

We have had an incredibly busy week, but not really much busier than normal.

Guess I'd better do a knitting post...that always works when I don't have anything else to blog about.

Be back later today with some exciting knitting content!

Motherhood Lesson #388

If you have a sandbox in the backyard...

and then get new neighbors with an outdoor cat...

umm, yeah...get rid of the sandbox before you let your children play in it.

The three year old was especially excited to play with the "stinky mud". Aaaaa, I can still smell the horrendous stench from when they came inside. I think it's burned into my nostrils!

Wow, that's two major motherhood lessons two days in a row. Wonder what I'll learn tomorrow?

Motherhood Lesson #387

If your four year old decides that it is a good idea to put two M&Ms up her nose...

Don't try to get them out (it will be torture for her and you!)...

Just wait about ten minutes for them to get a little melty and they'll slide right out with a good nose blowing.

Lesson learned the hard way!

Where do cherries come from?

Emily had on a shirt the other day that had cherries on it. That sparked the following conversation....

Emily: Mmmmm, I want to eat some cherries.
Mara: Emily, we don't have any cherries.
Emily: Uh huh, they're right here on my shirt.
Mara: Emmy, don't be silly...cherries don't come from shirts, they come from milkshakes.

Mmmm, I love those cherries on the top of milkshakes, and I love that in Mara's four-year-old world cherries come from milkshakes! Oh to be four again!

Should I be embarrassed....

...that my three year old is a fan of this guy?We were watching the Bee Movie the other day.
In the scene where Barry is on the windshield talking to Mooseblood (the mosquito going to Alaska)...Emily says, "Hey, he sounds like Marty!"
She was talking about Marty from Madagascar (which we love!).
You know...this guy....

I laughed so hard cause yep, Chris Rock does the voice of Mooseblood and Marty!

Yeah, what she said.

Cindy said it so beautifully; I couldn't possible say it any better. So just go here and read it.

Bet you wish it was your birthday!

Man, getting to hear this all day is definitely worth having another birthday and getting another year older.

She's already sang this 13 times this morning and it's not even 8am....I think she'll probably hit triple digits by bedtime!

Oh, and I love how she reaches for the camera when she gets done. She wanted to see herself sing too!

Daddy's birthday is in five more days so the second time through is for him!

My Pumpkins

I just knew that you were holding your breath waiting for this picture!

360 pieces of candy....one piece of candy per day per girl....yep, we should run our right around Valentine's day when we'll get tons more!

We did have so much fun trick-or-treating though.

Oh ya, and this picture was taken about ten minutes before Emily puked all over the van. Halloween memories. We've all had the croup on two halloweens (2004 and 2005) and then Becca had RSV on her first one (2006). I can't believe that we were all healthy last year but 2008 will definitely be known as the year of doing pukey laundry for four days!

An extra hour of sleep last night?

Nope, not at this house.

And if one more person says how great it was to get an extra hour of sleep, I'm going to hit them in the face.

The task today: to keep the girls up until (the new) bedtime so they won't be up at 5am tomorrow.

Hmmm, I love this daylight savings time crap! Oops, I mean 'stuff'...sorry Mom!
