Daddy's out of shape!
Mara was playing with my old pop beads the other day. You remember those pop beads from the 80s? Mom kept mine, and Mara loves them. Anyway, Mara was having trouble getting some together so she said....
Mara: Daddy, will you help me get these together?
Phillip: I can't get them together either.
Mara: You have to try, Daddy.
Phillip: Mara, no matter how much I try, I don't think I can get them together.
Mara: Well...you just need to try harder.
Phillip: If I try harder, I'm afraid I'm going to break it.
Mara: Well....you just need to exercise more.
Ouch, no need to get personal, Mara!

Help: Dawdling Toddler
It's backwards day again at Rocks in my Dryer's Works for me Wednesday. That means instead of offering advice, I ask for advice. So here comes a desperate momma asking for help...
Emily is THE worst dawdler. It only takes her twenty minutes to get from the van, up the ten stairs, and in the door. She can put her shoes on in a record fifteen minutes, and watch out...pottying in ten minutes feels like lightening speed! It drives me CRAZY!
If I tell her to hurry up, she just goes slower. Every once in a while I can get her moving a little faster with "I'll race you." or "Here comes the tickle bug." But those things are working less and less.
Got any other ideas? Please help before this momma goes nuts!

Choo-choo
The other night Emily started pretending to be a train...
Emily: Choo-choo!
Me: Sissy, what says 'choo-choo'? (totally expecting 'Thomas' or 'train' as an answer)
Emily: Reed!
Reed is one of her friends who loves trains. It was too cute.

Need a snack idea?
While walking into pre-school yesterday Mara said, "The wind tastes yummy, Mom!"
Hmmm, having wind for a snack would definitely help me loose my last 20 lbs! Why didn't I think of that?

Nuuuhh Uuhhh!
I'm just now catching up on the dvr from the beginning of the week. I'm floored about this. She so should have won... I don't think I can watch the rest of the season.
Oh, the reality tv drama! I love it, and of course I'll be watching next week!

And here are the girls....Mara, Emily, and Becca (in that order)...

You know you want to try it too! Just go to simpsonizeme.com.

The pumpkins used to be orange.
We had so much fun painting pumpkins this year.
Becca painted for a long time before she tried to eat the paint brush!
Man, we are serious about our painting...look at that concentration.
Mara put the cutest little smiley face on hers.
Oh and I almost forgot, here's a picture of the finished product.....
Now, as long as it doesn't rain and wash off all of the washable paint, we're good!

Worms and Blood Work for Me
This is the perfect Halloween lunch (even though we just happen to have it for supper last night)...Worms with a side of blood! You just take hotdogs and cut them in strips and then they get all curly when you boil them. It was super easy and the girls LOVED it!
Check it out....eeeeewwwww!
Mara said, "Momma, the blood tastes like ketchup, and the worms taste like hotdogs!" Who knew worms taste like hotdogs!
So for a perfect Halloween lunch or dinner, worms and blood work for me!
