Acrylic photo frames work for me.

Why do babies and toddlers love to push buttons on the television? I guess the same reason they like the remote.

It never fails... I get all of the girls settled watching a video that they've all agreed on (which is a miracle). I walk out of the room, and 30 seconds later the big girls are screaming because Becca has pushed a button and messed everything up.

While at Wal-Mart several weeks ago, I was looking for a frame when the little cheap acrylic frames caught my eye. I thought, "That would be perfect to keep Becca's little fingers off of the tv buttons."

Well, I'm happy to report that they are working fabulously. See all of the fingerprints on the frame below....
Each fingerprint is one less scream from the big girls. Oh, and it also keeps random toys out of the VCR slot (not that that has ever happens at the circus house)!

I just had to show the next picture too. It took about ten takes to get the above picture. The other nine are some variation of the picture below. Good thing she's cute...the little rascal!

Perfect idea! I'm going to use this. I even think just one of those wide panoramic ones would work for us. Thanks!

Great idea! My little on is getting so close to crawling, and I remember how much her sister loved to push buttons. I will definitely have to implement this idea!

Great tip. My little boy is now pulling up on furniture. Oh, I see the TV being favorite toy with him. Need to get me a frame. Thanks for sharing!

you have beautiful daughters!!
our TV has a piece of cardboard taped over the buttons. I wish I would have thought of the picture frames. We'll have to go invest in some!

I did the exact same thing when my kids were little! My mother-in-law always gave us pictures in those little frames, so I had a HUGE supply!

One day we took the TV/VCR combo in for repairs. It was returned to us, in working order, with a baggy full of the stuff they pulled out of it. Sad, when a technician says he's never pulled so many things out of a VCR!

We used a similar method when opurs were little, except we had a longer one that was purchased specifically as a tv protector from some baby store. We didn't buy it till after our tv/vcr needed repairs, twice, because our oldest stuck things in the vcr, the second time she got her hand stuck. The great thing about the clear plastic is that the remote works through it.

Great idea! My DH just rigged up something last night, and I've already had to redo it this morning. He taped a water bottle cap to the tv over the power button, but I think this will work a lot better and be much more attractive.

That's a great idea - and much cheaper and easier to find (and replace) than the specific baby-proofing one that we used to have. I'm going shopping! :)

wow, how easy and cheap! I'm so glad I happened upon your blog today. With a little one after not having a baby in the house for 6 years, I'm pulling my hair out with the baby-proofing and the big kids yelling!

Thanks
