A friend of mine talks about "kisses from the King"....just little no reason happies that seem to come at the perfect time.
I've had a rough couple of weeks. Phillip's been working a lot, I've not been feeling good, and Emily's not been sleeping good (which means Mommy gets no sleep either).
On Friday Phillip brought home a gift certificate to get a pedicure. Whoo Hoo, that was definitely an unexpected happy.
Then I got some 'good mail' from Hollee Ann on Saturday. Man, you'll never know how much that meant to me, Hollee Ann!
And wait, that's not all.....Yesterday after church there was a bag hanging on the mirror of my van. Inside was some yummy cookies and yummy yummy pumpkin air freshener thingy....and I LOVE me some pumpkin. The little note just said, "Thanks for your ministry."
Man, any one of those would be a sweet sweet kiss from the King, but instead I got a triple kiss!
God knew I needed a triple kiss cause today I'm taking care of a puker.... Her face is saying, "Momma, why are taking my picture when I'm fixing to puke?"
Oh, and I'm taking care of another jealous, feeling fine, non-puker!
Thank you Phillip, Hollee Ann, and my mystery person for encouraging me and loving on me. I think I'm going to make it....no, I know I'm going to make it!

Well, I had a whirlwind of a weekend.
My grandmother is sick, and I found a really cheap plane ticket Saturday night. So I took an unexpected last minute trip to Iowa this weekend. It was so good to see my grandma, even though it was in the hospital.
Phillip did SO good with the girls. They had a weekend of ill-fitting clothes and really messy hair, but they also had lots of fun.
Fun and some drama too.... They dropped me off at the airport Saturday evening and stopped at McDonald's for supper on the way home. As Phillip was carrying the food to the table, Emily puked all over the table. He got her all cleaned up just in time for Mara to spill her chocolate milk all in her lap. I think that would have been enough to send me over the edge, but my easy-going husband was not phased.
He did so good, and I'm so very thankful that my girls have such an awesome Daddy! It was good to be missed and is even better to be home. Now to tackle the mess of my house.....

So my husband has posted a rebuttal to the 'revolutionary no scar surgery technique'.
Go check it out here.
Then come back and tell me if you laughed.

...but some days I say that with a little less confidence! I love you honey but I'd love to get inside that head of yours sometimes. What were you thinking when you took this picture? Ok, so maybe I don't want to get inside of your head. I still love you though!

Phillip just started working four ten hour days last week. We LOVE it! It's a little more challenging in the evenings to keep the girls occupied until Daddy gets home (and that's complicated by the fact that we got rid of Emily's pacifier last week too and she hasn't napped since!), but Fridays are so worth it.
Since we both 'work' on Sundays at church, Saturday has been our only day off. Our to do list is a mile long so there's very little time for just fun stuff as a whole family. Last Friday we 'slept in' (that means Mara got up at 6:45 as opposed to 6:30), ate Dunkin Donuts for breakfast, and went to the water park. We had a very relaxing super fun day.
Phillip seems to like the longer days at work too because he's been so productive. He said just the other night that the days seem to go faster because he's not watching the clock anymore.
So working four ten hour days 'Works For Me.'
This is my first time to participate in Works For Me Wednesday over at Rocks In My Dryer. There are tons of great tips over there so go check it out. Be warned though...it'll eat at least an hour!

To Mara, Emily, and Becca's Daddy...
I can't believe that this picture was taken three and a half years ago. You were so awkward and careful with Mara Lin then, but from that very first day you were the best dad I could ever have imagined. The girls absolutely adore you! Thanks so much for being an incredible dad....for being the picture of Christ in my girls' lives....for loving them and me unconditionally. Your princesses love you. Happy Father's Day.

I'm heading to the Orange Conference in Atlanta today which means Phillip is the ring master of the circus until Thursday. He's a little nervous but he's going to do fabulous. I do need to write a little disclaimer though.... I'm not sure what the girls will be wearing (Mara's shoes might be too small and Emily's too big!) or what their hair will look like, but I do know that they will be having a blast with Daddy! Ya'll pray that they'll all have lots of fun, and if you see them in the next couple of days....offer to hold Becca or something!
