My momma taught me well.

I haven't posted in several days because I'm having attitude issues. My momma taught me that if you don't have anything nice to say...don't say anything at all. So, hopefully my attitude will shape up and I'll be back soon!

All but one of them had a good nap!

Mara was supposed to be napping, but this is what I found about 30 minutes after saying "night, night"... That's her bed, where she was supposed to sleeping. She had put about 25 "babies night night" in her bed. Needless to say, Mara didn't get a nap that day!

Whew, what a fun day!

We (the big girls, my mom, and I) went to see Miss Patty Cake last weekend. We all had the best time and enjoyed a great show.

When she first came out on stage, Mara looked at my with huge surprised eyes and said, "Mom, how did Miss Patty Cake get out of the tv?!?" How cute is that! She's only ever seen Miss Patty Cake on videos so she was really amazed that she was a real live person.

Here's Mara and Emily posing in Miss Patty Cake's house in their Miss Patty Cake dresses...
And then we got to talk to her! Mara was sure to ask her how she got out of the tv.
And she signed our new Miss Patty Cake dolls that have not left their sides all week.
Oh, and don't forget Mr. Stan the Handyman!
Everything about the day was fabulous. If you've never seen Miss Patty Cake, you've got to checkout some of her videos. Check out her website. I can't say enough how good she is.

And she's a huge inspiration to me as a mother and in preschool ministry. Thanks Miss Patty Cake!

Awake?

Had to tell this cute story before Christmas....

We got our Christmas tree a couple of weeks ago right after church. Since it was nap time, I told the girls that the tree needed to rest before we decorated it.

As soon as Emily came down stairs from her nap she looked at me and said, "Is the tree awake, Mommy?"

I said, "Yep it's awake, we can decorate it!"

One down....

...only a dozen or so to go.

That would be, one of my real life friends has started a blog! Now I only have a dozen or so more friends to keep nagging about it!

Heidi and I are partners in ministry, in motherhood, and in weight loss. She had two precious boys who are both betrothed to two of my girls!

Check out Heidi's blog....Losing It All, and tell her hi while you're there!

Here's the sappy one.

Remember this post I did for Becca's birthday? Well, you didn't think I'd let Mara's birthday go by and not do a sappy post for her too, did you?

Sweet Mara....
Oh how four years have flown by!

It honestly feels like just yesterday that I was waiting, and waiting, and WAITING for a baby. Oh how I wanted a baby so bad, but God sure taught me so much during that waiting.

Then I was waiting, and waiting, and WAITING for you to come out of my tummy...you were two weeks late. I thought I'd be pregnant forever!

And then I got to meet you and kiss that precious face. The day my whole life changed!

I've never met a sweeter or more nurturing girl. You help me take care of your baby sisters, and have such a caring heart.

And how funny and silly you are! You love making your mommy and daddy laugh.

And now you're such a big girl...and so very independent.

I love you so much, and can't wait to see what the future holds for you.

Do me a favor though...don't grow so fast. I'm afraid I'm going to miss something!

Love,
Mom

I have a four year-old!

Four years old....wow, that still blows my mind!

We had her party at a gymnastics place. All of the kids really had a great time running out all of that pent up energy.

Mara's favorite part was "flying"....
I know, the picture would have been better with the candle turned around but then she couldn't see it!
Do you think Becca liked the cupcake?

Photographic Proof...

...that I'm loosing it, or rather lost it!

I started a load of laundry last night before I went to bed. Started the washer, added the detergent, and well that's as far as I got. Not sure what distracted me, but I went to put the clothes in the dryer this morning and this is what met me in the laundry room...That would be a totally empty washer full of water.

I guess there are worse ways to loose it!

It's beginning to look a lot like like.....

....Christmas!!!
Christmas Tour of Homes
So BooMama is hosting a tour of homes in blog land. It's so fun to see everyone's special Christmas decorations.

Here goes my contribution...Christmas at the circus.....

First is my favorite thing to get out every Christmas, my Willow Tree nativity scene. It was such a special time this year putting it up. It's the first year I let the girls help me set it up. They loved it.

Here's the decorated...or rather re-decorated Christmas tree. The girls helped decorate it the first time and then CRASH! it hit the floor. Water pouring everywhere. Broken decorations everywhere. Half of the lights fell so far down that I literally had to start completely over. Sweet Christmas memories! No really, I can laugh about it now. Twenty years from now I'll be saying, "Remember the year the tree fell right after we decorated it?"

Pink stockings on the mantel...can you tell we have girls?! My sister-in-law made these.
I had big plans for putting up outside lights and decorations this year, but wreaths on all of the font windows is as far as it went....thanks Dad!

And finally, here is our ever growing basket of Christmas toys...toys that are ususally spread all over the living room...toys that I only have to pick up fifty times a day. Can you tell how much I love these toys?!

Oh wait...I can't forget my Christmas socks I just finished knitting last night!
Thanks for stopping by my 'home'. Merry Christmas Y'all!
